Our Mission

HABcore Inc., is a not-for-profit corporation serving Monmouth and adjacent counties in New Jersey. HABcore, Inc. is devoted to providing permanent and transitional supportive housing in a family setting to low income persons who are homeless, disabled, or unable to care for themselves while affording them lives of dignity and meaning.

"A decade ago, a small group of people saw a problem and decided to solve it. Today, two dozen disabled men and women, who might otherwise be homeless, have comfortable rooms, good food and abundant help and support in a family atmosphere." ------Asbury Park Press, 1998

"HABcore program a godsend for the homeless..." ------Asbury Park Press, 2005

AGENCY SUPPORT
Our connection with many support agencies enable us to provide critical services to our residents that would otherwise be out of our reach.

* HABcore has a contractual agreement with CPC Behavioral Healthcare Association, that reserves four beds at the Coffey Residence and ten beds at the Laurel House for their clients.

* HABcore reserves two respite beds for CPC and one for the Monmouth County Department of Social Services (MCDSS) for someone in need of temporary emergency housing and cannot pay any rent.

* Nurses from the Visiting Nurse Association of Central New Jersey make regular on-site visits to conduct physical evaluations, administer treatment, and educate our residents on good health practices and the proper use of medication.

* HABcore's Resident Managers work closely with the Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) team members to ensure that mentally ill residents successfully make the transition from a hospital setting to the community environment.
These are only a few examples of the vast array of talent and energy being devoted to fulfilling our primary goal of helping our residents achieve independent living wherever feasible.
